I managed to catch these guys at the Record Cafe in Bradford last week. The band are Anatol Mcginnis, Michael Sharratt and Matt Carter from Ottawa. I thought the guys would be unlikely to pass this way again and so made an effort to get down to the Record Cafe to see them (it wasn't really an effort as the Record Cafe has a nice cosy atmosphere and some really nice craft beers)!
I had a quick chat with the band after their set and they have recently been in Southern Ireland with gigs in Dublin and Galway (with a rather lucrative busking session on the streets of Galway) and are travelling on into Europe when they leave the UK.
I managed to catch Cory Henry at the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds last month on his Revival Project tour. Cory was travelling with assorted keyboard instruments including a classic Hammond B-3 organ which he apparently has played in public from the age of four. He was accompanied on drums by Mr. TaRon Lockett, an incredible percussionist.
If you want to see Cory he is returning to the UK (and Dublin) later this year with his band The Funk Apostles.
